DHIS2 for Education to present at African Union GPE KIX Symposium
The DHIS2 for Education team will participate in the third AU GPE KIX Continental Symposium on Education Research in Africa, Nov. 20 – 22, 2024, in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
The DHIS2 for Education team is thrilled to announce our participation in the third GPE KIX Continental Symposium on Education Research in Africa, taking place Nov. 20 – 22, 2024, in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
This year’s symposium, co-organized by the KIX Africa 19 Hub and the KIX Africa 21 Hub, brings together policymakers, researchers, academics, teacher representatives, and development partners from across Sub-Saharan Africa. With the theme “Building Resilient Systems for Increased Access to Inclusive Quality and Relevant Education in Africa,” the event emphasizes bridging research, policy, and practice to improve learning outcomes.
Our team will be contributing to this important dialogue with two exciting presentations:
- “A digital platform ecosystem approach to education management information system strengthening” – presented by Sophia Kousiakis, from the University of Oslo (UiO) HISP Centre.
- “Enhancing accessibility to examination results: A case study of WhatsApp chatbot” – a poster presentation by Jerry Aziawa from HISP West & Central Africa.
These presentations showcase how digital solutions like DHIS2 are playing a vital role in strengthening education systems and improving access to education data for informed decision-making.
Whether attending in person or virtually, we encourage you to join the symposium to learn, share, and collaborate on advancing inclusive, high-quality education across Africa. The event will also be live streamed on Zoom.

We look forward to connecting with fellow stakeholders to discuss innovative solutions for resilient education systems in Africa!
